Accounts Assistant 📍 Rugby, Warwickshire
🕒 Full-time | £13.50 – £15.50 per hour (DOE)
Job Overview We are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy and growing team in Rugby. The successful candidate must be proficient in SAGE and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a wide range of accounting responsibilities.
Working Hours

• Monday – Thursday: 08:45 AM – 7:30 PM
• Friday: 09:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Start time can be flexible, but end time is fixed.

Pay Rate

• £13.50 – £15.50 per hour
• Rate dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Process foreign payments via Transglobal
• Perform twice-daily backups of Sage
• Use Excel templates to complete accurate costing forms for overseas deliveries
• Monitor purchase invoice inbox and handle supplier phone calls
• Count and bag engineers’ cash for logging and collection
• Investigate and resolve stock queries and discrepancies
• Process payroll hours from timesheets into Excel
• Reconcile petty cash and ensure Sage reflects accurate balances
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile credit card statements
• Prepare and transfer monthly sales figures from Sage to Excel
• Print and log bank statements using Excel tracking

Requirements

• Must have solid experience using Sage accounting software
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Strong communication skills, especially when liaising with suppliers and internal teams
