Business Development Manager – Commercial Waste

Nottingham | Up to £35,000 basic + Uncapped Commission (OTE £50,000+) | Company Car

If you’re a driven field sales professional who knows how to open doors and close deals, this is a genuine growth opportunity with a carbon-neutral waste management business that’s expanding across Nottingham.

This isn’t a “maintain the patch” role. It’s about winning new business, building a pipeline from scratch, and making a visible impact in a company that’s serious about sustainability and commercial growth.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for developing new commercial waste contracts across Nottingham and the surrounding areas. The business already has strong operational capability, they now need someone who can drive revenue and convert opportunity into long-term partnerships.

You’ll have the autonomy to manage your territory, build relationships with decision-makers, and shape your own success.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Generating and converting new business within the commercial waste sector

• Prospecting, booking meetings, and building a strong sales pipeline

• Delivering tailored proposals and closing deals

• Managing relationships post-sale to maximise retention and upsell opportunities

• Representing the business within the local market and at industry events

• Consistently hitting and exceeding revenue targets

What They’re Looking For

• Proven experience in field sales or business development

• Background in waste management is ideal, but related sectors such as facilities management, utilities, recycling, or B2B services will be considered

• Strong negotiation and closing skills

• Self-motivated and comfortable managing your own territory

• Full UK driving licence
