Job Description:
Are you an experienced CAD Designer with a background in sheet metal fabrication? Do you take pride in creating precise, detailed designs for bespoke architectural structures? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are currently recruiting for a CAD Designer to join a leading manufacturing and fabrication business specialising in architectural metalwork. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing technical general arrangement drawings, as well as 2D and 3D production drawings for bespoke structures fabricated from stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium.
Location: Corby
Salary: From £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent
Duties:
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D designs and production drawings for bespoke architectural metalwork
- Create detailed component and assembly drawings for fabrication and installation
- Carry out site surveys to gather accurate measurements and information for your designs
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to ensure design feasibility and accuracy
- Manage your own projects through the design phase, meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant construction methods, structural requirements, and safety standards
The ideal candidate must:
- Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the sheet metal fabrication or architectural metalwork industry
- Be proficient in AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor (3D) software
- Have a strong understanding of fabrication methods, structural integrity, and construction processes
- Be capable of carrying out accurate site surveys
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to manage projects independently
- Be detail-oriented, methodical, and proactive in problem-solving
