
Commercial & Functional Division Manager
About the Role:
We are seeking a Commercial & Functional Division Manager to lead a growing team within our field service division. This pivotal role combines strong commercial leadership with the hands-on management of an engineering team.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the division’s commercial success, which includes preparing competitive quotations, managing customer expectations, overseeing CAPEX planning, and supporting technical delivery. This position is ideal for a proactive leader with a solid technical background who excels at managing both people and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Management: Lead the division’s commercial planning, budgeting, and reporting. This involves preparing, reviewing, and approving customer quotations and proposals, overseeing pricing strategies, cost estimation, and margin control, and managing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects and equipment investments.
Team & Project Leadership: Lead, support, and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff to ensure high-quality, efficient, and accurate job delivery. Drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Customer & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and key accounts. Effectively manage customer expectations and satisfaction through clear communication.
Division Development: Contribute to growth by identifying areas for improvement and opportunities. Safeguard customer retention and promote repeat business through service excellence.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in a commercial, technical, or project management role within an engineering or industrial environment.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and planning abilities.
A proactive, adaptable approach, capable of managing multiple priorities.
Comfortable working in both customer-facing and technical environments.
Good understanding of costing, quotation preparation, and commercial principles.
Desirable Experience:
Background or practical experience in electromechanical systems or rotating electrical equipment (e.g., motors, generators, pumps, or similar).
Formal qualification or degree in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering.
Experience managing projects or equipment investments.
