English Teacher - Maternity cover

Job Description:

• Start date: February Half Term
• End date: Maternity Cover until December 2026
• Full-time role
• Teaching KS3 English only

We are working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Good' 11-18 secondary school & sixth form in West Leicestershire who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher. This is a full-time job to start at February Half Term to cover maternity leave until December. Due to this being a long-term job, full teaching responsibilities will be required, including planning and marking.

Job Description

• Delivering engaging and creative English lessons.
• Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback.
• Contributing to the development of the department's curriculum.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
• Recent experience teaching English at secondary school level.
• Strong behaviour/classroom management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
