Childcare Social Worker - Fostering Service (Level 3) | Leicester City Council

Rate: £36 - £38 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm, Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
Location: Leicester City Council - Office base available with hybrid/working from home options

Leicester City Council are looking for a Level 3 Qualified Childcare Social Worker to join their Fostering Service, offering supervision and support to approved foster carers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional supervision, advice, and support to approved foster carers.
• Monitor placements to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and stability of children and young people.
• Maintain compliance with Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
• Work closely with foster carers, children, and professionals to promote positive outcomes.
• Prepare and present reports and updates for Panel meetings and reviews.
• Share knowledge and promote best practice in trauma-informed and therapeutic parenting approaches, including Secure Base and PACE models.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in fostering, supervision, and carer support.
• Knowledge of Fostering Regulations, National Minimum Standards, and legal proceedings.
• Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet service objectives.

Essential Requirements:

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualifying experience within Children's Services
• Social Work England Registration
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
