Geologist / Engineering Geologist – £40,000 Salary

Location: Burton-on-Trent

Commutable from: Lichfield, Tamworth, Derby, Coalville, Carlton, Sudbury

Our client is a well-established consultancy specialising in geotechnical, environmental, structural, and design services. They support both large and small developers across a broad range of sectors including commercial, retail, residential (from private individuals to major PLCs), education, healthcare, social housing, transport, and leisure & hospitality.

They are currently seeking a Geologist or Engineering Geologist to join their head office team in Burton-on-Trent.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:

• Extensive fieldwork focus for the first 2 years

• Supervision and management of site investigations

• Preparation of Health & Safety documentation

🎓 Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Earth Sciences or related discipline

• Minimum 2 years of UK-based fieldwork experience (site investigation supervision and logging)

• Familiarity with British soils and geology, logging to current British Standards

• Experience in contaminated land assessment and geotechnical investigation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Team-oriented with adaptability to dynamic site conditions

• Physically fit and willing to work outdoors, away from home, and during unsociable hours

• Full UK Driving Licence (Category B manual)

• Must have the right to work in the UK
