Job Description:
Health, Safety & Environment Advisor – Manufacturing
Leicester
Circa 40-45k
This company makes bread. The proper stuff. The kind that takes time, skill, and care—not the mass-produced kind that’s forgotten as soon as it’s eaten. They’ve been at it for over a century, but they’re not stuck in the past. With serious investment, cutting-edge facilities, and big ambitions, they’re on a mission to dominate the artisan bread market at scale.
And they need a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor who’s actually going to do stuff—not just point out problems and leave them for someone else to sort.
The Job:
- Work alongside the HSE Manager to drive a safety-first culture across two production sites.
- Be on the ground, keeping health and safety real—not drowning in paperwork.
- Investigate incidents, spot risks before they turn into problems, and find practical solutions.
- Train people, run Toolbox Talks, and make sure safety isn’t just a tick-box exercise.
- Keep policies fresh, relevant, and actually useful.
- Work with engineering teams and contractors to ensure safety is baked into every process.
You:
- A doer, not just a talker. You get things done.
- HSE experience in manufacturing.
- NEBOSH General Certificate and IOSH qualified.
- Comfortable dealing with everyone from the factory floor to the boardroom.
- Persistent—when something needs fixing, you’ll find a way.
- Keep things simple, clear, and effective. No unnecessary fluff.
This isn’t a role for someone who wants to hide behind spreadsheets. It’s hands-on, it’s visible, and it’s vital.
