Junior Maintenance Engineer - Afternoon Shift

Location: Dordon, Tamworth, B78

Salary: £15.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 5:00pm - 1:30am (Afternoon Shift)

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

Accept Recruitment is working with a leading e-commerce warehousing operation in Dordon to recruit a Junior Maintenance Engineer to join their facilities team on a permanent afternoon shift basis.

You'll be responsible for supporting the maintenance team in ensuring all equipment and machinery runs smoothly to maintain operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on warehouse equipment and machinery

Maintain, repair, and fix conveyor belt systems to ensure continuous operation

Diagnose and resolve conveyor belt faults, including belt tracking, motor issues, and sensor problems

Respond to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns during shift

Assist senior engineers with repairs and installations

Conduct regular safety checks and equipment inspections

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Liaise with operations teams to minimise downtime

Essential Requirements

Minimum 1 year of maintenance engineering experience in a warehousing, logistics, or manufacturing environment

Proven experience maintaining and repairing conveyor belt systems

Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles

Good problem-solving abilities and practical approach

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication skills

Flexibility and reliability

Right to work in the UK

Desirable Skills

Electrical or mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)

Experience working in e-commerce, logistics, or automated warehouse environments

Knowledge of warehouse automation equipment, forklift trucks, or material handling systems

Basic IT skills for logging maintenance tasks

Understanding of health and safety regulations in industrial environments
