Laser Operative

Location: Leicester 
Salary: £15/ hour

Regional Recruitment Services are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Leicester. Due to continued workload and investment, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Laser Operative.

This role is suited to a hands-on, detail-focused individual with experience operating laser cutting machinery in a precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate laser cutting machines to customer and job pack requirements
• Verify correct material, sheet size, and NC program prior to cutting
• Optimise material usage, including effective use and labelling of offcuts
• Monitor cut quality throughout production runs and take corrective action where required
• Inspect finished components to ensure accuracy and freedom from damage
• Accurately record production times using shop-floor systems
• Maintain cleanliness of laser machines, trays, and work areas
• Carry out routine machine cleaning and checks, including water and oil levels

Skills, Experience & Attributes

• Proven experience setting and operating laser cutting machines in a fabrication environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience working with bespoke and subcontract laser work
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative
• Good problem-solving skills and a flexible approach to work
• Strong communication and team-working skills
• Professional, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude
• Keen to develop within a growing manufacturing business
