Maintenance Team Leader
Location: Sileby
Salary: £52,000
Shift: 3 Shift (Days, Afternoons, Nights)
We’re working with a well established manufacturing business that’s looking for a Shift Maintenance Team Leader to take charge of a multi-skilled team focused on reactive maintenance.
This is a hands on leadership role where you’ll be right in the middle of the action coordinating breakdown response, supporting the team technically, and making sure issues are dealt with quickly and safely. It would suit someone who’s stepped up from the tools or already leading a team, and is confident making decisions under pressure.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll be leading from the front, keeping the plant running and supporting your team to respond effectively to breakdowns:
- Leading and organising the reactive maintenance team based on priorities and risk
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and coordinating repairs to minimise downtime
- Providing technical support to electricians, fitters, and multi-skilled engineers
- Making sure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Keeping accurate records of faults, repairs, and parts used in the CMMS
- Communicating clearly with production on plant status and repair plans
- Spotting recurring issues and feeding into longer-term improvements
- Ensuring all safety procedures are followed (LOTO, PPE, isolations)
- Running toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Monitoring team performance and key maintenance KPIs
- Supporting the development of the team through coaching and mentoring
The right candidate
We're after someone who can lead, organise, and stay calm under pressure:
- Background as a Maintenance Fitter, Electrician, or multi-skilled engineer
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong fault finding and problem solving skills (mechanical and/or electrical)
- Ability to prioritise breakdowns and manage workload effectively
- Good understanding of plant equipment (conveyors, pumps, mixers, etc.)
- Clear communication and strong organisational skills
- A solid approach to safety and site procedures
