Quality Manager

Job Description:

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading heavy manufacturer supplying high-precision components to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine sectors.

They are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their facility in Leicester. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for managing the site’s Quality function, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team, fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with AS9100, AS13100, and NADCAP standards.
• Drive continuous improvement programs, including Zero Defects initiatives, to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
• Monitor and report on quality KPIs, ensuring performance improvement across the facility.
• Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of any non-conformances.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality inquiries, complaints, and audits.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to improve processes and supplier quality.
• Prepare and present quality performance reports and improvement strategies to senior management.

Essential Requirements

• Highly experienced in engineering or quality within the aerospace or heavy manufacturing sectors.
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proven experience in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
• Demonstrated leadership ability, managing and developing teams effectively.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Degree or HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt.
