We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead and register a new children’s residential home supporting up to four young people with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a new service, shape its development, and build a therapeutic, child-centred environment from the ground up. The home will operate with high staffing ratios and follow a care model informed by Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP).
You will be supported by a core team of a Deputy Manager and three Senior Support Workers, ensuring strong leadership on every shift and shared responsibility in administration and operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Register and manage the home in line with Ofsted requirements
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care
• Recruit, develop, and lead a motivated and skilled staff team
• Ensure all safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety standards are met
• Foster a warm, structured, and supportive environment that enables young people to thrive
• Build strong working relationships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders
Essential Requirements
• Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in an Ofsted-registered children’s home
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
• Level 4 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, legislation, and Ofsted frameworks
• A strong, therapeutic approach with a focus on emotional well-being and behavioural support
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
We also welcome applications from experienced Deputy Managers who are ready to progress and are currently working towards their Level 5 qualification.
