The Role:
As the successful SEN Teacher, you will:
Lead a class of pupils with severe autism and physical disabilities, delivering highly differentiated, individualised learning programmes.
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to EHCP outcomes and personalised targets.
Implement specialist strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, sensory integration approaches, and structured communication systems.
Work closely with therapists and multi-disciplinary teams to support pupils' holistic development.
Oversee and manage Teaching Assistants (TAs), providing clear direction, support, and performance guidance to ensure high-quality classroom practice.
Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to annual reviews and reports.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Significant, proven experience teaching pupils with severe autism and physical disabilities.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring support staff.
A calm, resilient, and adaptable approach in challenging situations.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
