SEN Central is currently recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for schools supply work in Derby and the surrounding Derby area.

About the Role

You will be supporting SEN pupils on a 1:1 and group basis with a range of needs across SEN and mainstream Schools in the Derby area

* Monday to Friday - School hours

What we are looking for

We are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants with the following skills;

• Experience in 1:1 support in either key Stage 1,2 and 3
• A calm, patient and empathetic nature
• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting individual learning needs
• A good understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practices
• Strong engagement skills
• Experience in supporting young people with either SEMH, ESBD, Autism, communication and sensory needs or complex needs 
• Strong Communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
• Patience, empathy, and dedication in the role
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to use own initiative
• Relevant qualification in either Childcare /Teaching support/ Health and Social Care / Relevant Degree
• Previous experience of supporting young people within a care setting / residential care setting is helpful (not essential)
• Resilient, committed and reliable
• All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
