Location: Coalville, Leicestershire
Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 + Car/Allowance + Bonus + Pension + 25 Days Holiday

The Role
As Senior Design Manager, you will lead the design process on new build construction projects ranging from £10m to £30m. Based in Coalville, you’ll work closely with project teams, consultants, and clients to ensure design delivery aligns with programme, budget, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
• Manage consultant teams and coordinate multidisciplinary design information
• Drive design programmes in line with project timelines
• Review and challenge design solutions to ensure buildability and cost efficiency
• Chair design team meetings and manage design risk registers
• Work closely with commercial, planning, and delivery teams
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements
• Support bid and tender processes where required

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager with a main contractor
• Experience delivering new build projects valued between £10m–£30m
• Strong technical and construction knowledge across multiple sectors
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Relevant construction or design qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
