About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to support and manage quality processes across our precision engineering business. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), leading audits, managing non-conformance systems, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and review the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance and continuous improvement
- Lead and participate in internal and external audits (customers, suppliers, accreditation bodies)
- Manage non-conformance systems (IRN, SRN, CRN) and ensure effective resolution of NCRs
- Communicate NCR outcomes to stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and employees
- Provide technical support on quality issues and contribute to quoting activities when required
- Oversee the inspection department, including CMM program control and workload management
- Manage calibration systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Ensure correct use of route cards, drawings, and work instructions across production
- Support budget control and departmental resource allocation
- Promote continuous improvement and drive quality initiatives across the business
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a Quality Engineer or Senior Quality Engineer role within manufacturing or engineering
- Strong understanding of QMS, ISO9001, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of non-conformance systems and root cause analysis
- Experience managing or supporting inspection and calibration systems
- Strong auditing skills (internal/external), ideally with internal auditor or Six Sigma Green Belt training
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to influence at all levels
