Job Description

Enlightenment Education is seeking a caring and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision setting in Derby. This rewarding role involves supporting a 14-year-old male pupil with autism and attachment issues. You will work closely with the pupil to help build social skills and confidence, with the goal of reintegrating him into group classes over time.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Encourage and facilitate peer relationships
• Support emotional and behavioural needs
• Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent and effective support
• Monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed

Requirements

• Experience working with children with autism and/or attachment issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and resilience
• Ability to build trust and rapport
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
