Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support
Location: LE12, Shepshed (Leicestershire)
Pay: £90-£100 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Long-term to permanent

Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to achieve their potential?

A welcoming specialist all-through school (ages 4-16) in the LE12 area of Leicestershire is looking for a caring, proactive and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide consistent 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Help implement positive behaviour strategies to encourage emotional regulation and resilience.
• Create a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
• Support pupils in developing independence, life skills, and confidence.
• Build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families to break down barriers to learning.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience supporting young people with SEMH or SEN.
• Is patient, empathetic, and able to respond calmly to challenging situations.
• Has strong communication skills and can work effectively within a supportive team.
• Is seeking a long-term position with the opportunity for personal and professional growth.
