Contracts Manager – Refurbishment Projects

Location: Burton upon Trent
Job Type: Permanent / Full Time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are a small, well-established construction company based in Burton upon Trent, specialising in a wide range of commercial refurbishment projects. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team.

This is a key role within the business, ideal for a proactive and commercially aware individual who is comfortable managing multiple projects and working closely with site teams, clients, and directors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing multiple refurbishment projects from pre-start through to completion

• Overseeing Site Managers and supporting site teams

• Programming works and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget

• Maintaining strong client relationships and attending progress meetings

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality, and company procedures

• Managing subcontractor performance and procurement

• Monitoring costs, variations, and project profitability

• Supporting tender reviews and pre-construction planning

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within refurbishment or fit-out works

• Strong understanding of construction processes, H&S, and contract management

• Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously

• Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills

• Ability to work autonomously in a small business environment

• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Background in commercial refurbishments

• SMSTS and relevant H&S qualifications
