Job Overview
We are seeking an organised, professional, and experienced School Administrator to join a busy mainstream school in Nottingham. The successful candidate will play a key role in the effective day-to-day administration of the school, with a particular focus on pupil admissions. This role requires previous experience working in education, strong administrative skills, and a confident understanding of admissions processes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support the school admissions process, including applications, admissions paperwork, and communication with parents/carers
Maintain accurate pupil records in line with GDPR and school policies
Act as a first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies, providing a professional and welcoming service
Support daily administrative operations, including attendance records, data entry, and filing
Liaise with the Local Authority regarding admissions, transfers, and pupil data
Use school management systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, or equivalent) to update and maintain records
Support senior leaders and office staff with general administrative tasks as required
Ensure confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
Essential Requirements
Previous experience working in an education setting (school or college)
Proven administrative experience within a busy office environment
Experience managing or supporting school admissions processes
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Safeguarding & Compliance
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)
Right to Work in the UK (required)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable
Experience using school management systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, etc.)
Knowledge of GDPR and data protection within education
Experience working in a mainstream school environment
