SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Coventry

Hours: Full time (Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 3:30pm)

Weekly Salary: £450 to £475

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a highly regarded specialist SEN school in Coventry who are looking to recruit several dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants. The school provides outstanding education and support for pupils aged 7–18 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and associated conditions.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm). The school offers a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment with excellent facilities, including dedicated spaces for creative arts, vocational subjects, and physical development. Every pupil has an individual learning plan, supported by a strong multi-disciplinary team that includes psychology and occupational therapy specialists. Classes are small, with no more than 8 pupils, ensuring a high staff-to-student ratio and enabling more personalised support.

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate team players who are motivated to inspire young learners, support high-quality teaching, and create enjoyable, engaging lessons. The successful candidates will play a vital role in encouraging pupils to build resilience, develop life skills, and make positive choices for their future.

• Supporting class teachers in the delivery of lessons.

• Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils who need additional help.

• Preparing and organising resources for lessons.

• Acting as a positive role model, inspiring and encouraging pupils.

• Using enthusiasm and creativity to engage students in learning.

• Experience working with Special Educational Needs (desirable).

• Previous experience supporting children or young people.

• Confidence in managing challenging behaviour.

• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

• Willingness to complete a DBS check (or already registered on the update service).

• A positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude.

• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people to reach their potential.

• A valid UK full driving licence (preferred).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
