Job description

Essential work. Trusted expertise. Done properly — every time.

What if your next career move came with a sea view?

We’re looking for an experienced Dual-Trained Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst to join our Hazardous Materials team, working across Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding area.

This is a role where your technical expertise genuinely matters — backed by a professional team, opportunities to develop and the Dorset coast never far away.

Great career. Great location. And the sea is never far away.

The Role

As a Dual-Trained Surveyor / Analyst, you’ll carry out varied, hands-on work that helps keep people, buildings and projects safe.

You’ll:

  • Carry out management, refurbishment, demolition and asbestos-in-ground surveys
  • Undertake air monitoring and airborne fibre counting
  • Complete 4-stage clearances and inspect remediation works
  • Collect site data using a phablet and our award-winning NexGen reporting system
  • Work in line with relevant asbestos legislation and guidance, including HSG248 and HSG264
  • Maintain QHSE documentation and follow internal assurance processes
  • Provide clear, professional technical advice to clients
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and other stakeholders
  • Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of your work

No two sites are necessarily the same. You’ll be trusted to use your experience and judgement, with support from the wider team when you need it.

In short: trusted technical work, delivered professionally, with no corners cut.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

  • BOHS P402, P403 and/or P404, RSPH equivalents, or a Certificate of Competence
  • Working knowledge of HSG248 and HSG264
  • A full UK manual driving licence
  • Experience working across different sites and environments
  • Flexibility to travel and work away when required
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach
  • The confidence to make decisions and challenge something when it isn’t right

You’re dependable, calm under pressure and take pride in getting the details right.

And if you like the idea of finishing the working day with the Dorset coastline nearby, even better.

What You’ll Get

We want our people to have the support and benefits they need to do their best work, including:

  • £1,000 joining bonus for experienced Asbestos Surveyors and Analysts who apply directly
  • Paid travel time within your 40-hour week — typically worth £3,000–£4,000 annually
  • Working-away allowances
  • Healthcare Cash Plan
  • Techscheme vouchers
  • Reward platform with wellbeing support, cycle-to-work and 800+ retailer discounts
  • Enhanced family leave
  • Option to buy additional holiday
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Flexible working and supportive management

You’ll be supported by managers who understand site work, value experience and trust their teams to deliver quality without unnecessary micromanagement.
