Asbestos Surveyor

Job description

If you know your P402 from your P45, can tell your AIB from your ACM, and take pride in getting the details right, we’d like to hear from you.

Asbestos surveying isn’t about rushing around sites, ticking boxes and moving on.

It’s about accuracy, professional judgement and producing information people can rely on — information that can make a real difference to safety.

At Lucion, our surveyors help clients understand and manage asbestos risk, keeping people safe and projects moving. Based around Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire and the surrounding area, you’ll work across a varied mix of buildings and projects where your expertise matters.

We’re a purpose-driven, beyond-net-zero business working across 12 sectors worldwide. But at site level, our approach is simple:

Do good work. Do it properly. Look after your people.

The Role

This is a hands-on surveying role, working across Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, Essex and the surrounding area.

You’ll:

• Carry out Management, Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys, plus asbestos-in-ground surveys
• Travel to a variety of commercial, residential, public-sector and construction sites
• Collect accurate site data using a phablet and our award-winning NexGen reporting system
• Produce clear, accurate survey reports
• Work in line with HSG264, HSE requirements and relevant legislation and construction regulations
• Maintain your QHSE documentation and follow internal assurance processes
• Provide clear, professional advice to clients when required
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and contractors
• Deliver accurate, consistent work without taking shortcuts

In short: reliable surveying, clear reporting, sound judgement and getting the important details right. Every time.

About You

You understand the responsibility that comes with asbestos surveying — and you take it seriously.

You’ll ideally have:

• BOHS P402, an RSPH equivalent qualification or Certificate of Competence
• Good working knowledge of HSG264
• A full UK manual driving licence
• A base in or around Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, Essex or the surrounding area
• Flexibility to travel locally and occasionally further afield
• Flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work
• The confidence to work independently while contributing to a wider team
• A strong work ethic and practical, professional approach
• The reliability and communication skills to build trust with clients and colleagues

You know your stuff, care about doing a good job and don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to make sure it gets done properly.

What You’ll Get

We want our people to have the support they need to do great work. You’ll benefit from:

• £1,000 joining bonus for experienced Asbestos Surveyors and Analysts who apply directly
• Paid travel time within your 40-hour week — typically worth £3,000–£4,000 annually
• Working-away allowances
• Healthcare Cash Plan
• Techscheme vouchers
• Reward platform with wellbeing support, cycle-to-work and 800+ retailer discounts
• Enhanced family leave
• Option to buy additional holiday
• Training and development opportunities
• Flexible working
• Managers who understand site work, value your expertise and trust you to deliver
