Location: Essex
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

The Opportunity
We're looking for a Buyer to join a busy and growing organisation, supporting the procurement of goods and services across multiple areas of the business.
This is a varied position that combines purchasing, supplier management, sourcing and commercial support. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll help ensure products and services are sourced efficiently, suppliers deliver value, and commercial objectives are achieved.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Buyer or Procurement professional looking to develop their career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The Role
Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the procurement of goods and services across a variety of spend categories.
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Obtaining and evaluating quotations to secure best value.
• Supporting supplier reviews and performance monitoring activities.
• Assisting with contract renewals and commercial negotiations.
• Maintaining supplier and purchasing records.
• Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Supporting sourcing and tender activities where required.
• Producing reports and analysis to support purchasing decisions.
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and procurement needs.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of purchasing processes and systems.

About You
We're looking for a commercially aware individual who can build strong relationships, challenge costs and drive value through effective purchasing practices.
You will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement or Supply Chain role.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Desirable

• CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS accreditation.
• Experience using ERP, purchasing or finance systems.
• Exposure to supplier performance management and strategic sourcing activities.
• Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, logistics, distribution or service-based organisations.
