Caretaker

Job description

Location: Leicester, 
Hours: Monday–Friday, 3:30pm–7:30pm (Degree of flexibilty required as sometimes needed until 8.30)
Start Date: Immediate

We are currently recruiting for a part-time Caretaker to support a school in the Leicester area.

This role would suit someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• General site maintenance and minor repairs.

• Opening and securing the premises as required.

• Ensuring classrooms and communal areas are clean and tidy.

• Completing routine site checks.

• Maintaining external areas and reporting maintenance issues.

• Ensuring the premises are safe and secure.

Requirements:

• Previous caretaking, cleaning or maintenance experience desirable.

• A practical and hands-on approach.

• Ability to work independently.

• Good attention to detail.

• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.

Compliance Requirements:

All candidates must complete The Supply Register's compliance process before commencing work. This includes:

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service preferred, or willingness to obtain a new DBS.

• Minimum of two employer references covering the previous 24 months.

• Three references required if you have not previously worked with children.

• Professional character reference for any unexplained employment gaps.

• Proof of Right to Work in the UK.

• Two proofs of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within the last three months, or council tax bill dated within the last 12 months).

• Proof of National Insurance.

• Proof of any name changes, where applicable.

• Overseas police check if you have lived outside the UK for more than six months.

• Completion of mandatory online training courses arranged by The Supply Register.
