🌟 WHAT DOES A WAKING NIGHT INVOLVE?

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll be there to keep young people safe, supported and reassured throughout the night.

The night may be quiet, but you need to remain awake, alert and ready to respond. You could be completing regular checks, supporting a young person who is struggling to settle, responding to heightened emotions, managing incidents or following the appropriate procedures if a young person goes missing.

You’ll need to be calm, patient, observant and resilient, especially when situations become challenging.

It’s not always easy — but knowing you’ve helped a young person feel safe, secure and supported through the night makes every shift worthwhile. 💙
