Manual/CNC Turner
The Job
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manual Turner to join our engineering and manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional centre lathes to manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual turning machines and centre lathes.
- Manufacture components from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds for various materials.
- Carry out turning, facing, boring, threading, and other machining operations.
- Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers, and gauges.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is kept in good working condition.
- Identify and report machine faults or production issues.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Manual Turner within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining techniques and processes.
- Competent in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to work independently and produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a workshop environment.
- Engineering apprenticeship or relevant machining qualification.
- Experience machining a variety of materials
