Due to continued investment in advanced machinery and growing customer demand, the business is seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Miller to join its skilled machining team.

Shift: Days
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 15:30, Friday 07:00 - 14:30
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
The Role: CNC Miller – 5 Axis
As a key member of the machining team, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating 5-axis CNC milling centres, producing high-precision components to tight tolerances. You will play a vital role in maintaining quality standards, improving machining processes, and supporting efficient production as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate, and programme 5-axis CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls
- Prepare tooling, fixtures, and materials for production
- Conduct first-off and in-process inspections to ensure component accuracy
- Create, edit, and optimise CNC programmes at the machine or through CAM software
- Adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, and offsets to maximise efficiency and quality
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D models
- Select suitable tooling and machining strategies for a range of materials
- Monitor tool wear and maintain high-quality surface finishes
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
- Carry out final inspections using a range of measuring equipment
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards
About You
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a precision engineering environment
- Proven experience programming, setting, and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience machining materials such as stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, and engineering plastics
