The Role

This is a hands-on, technically challenging position focused on specialist, small-batch precision engineering. You'll take ownership of the machining process, from programming through to finished inspection, rather than simply operating existing programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.

• Creating and modifying programmes both online and offline.

• Using Edgecam for offline programming.

• Working with FANUC controls.

• Selecting tooling, workholding and cutting parameters.

• Proving out programmes and setting datums and offsets.

• Reading engineering drawings and machining complex components to tight tolerances.

• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections.

• Troubleshooting machining issues and ensuring components are produced right first time.

About You

You'll be a confident, self-sufficient CNC Turner with strong programming and setting experience and a passion for precision engineering.

Essential requirements:

• Proven CNC turning, programming, setting and operating experience.

• Edgecam experience - essential.

• FANUC controls experience - essential.

• Small-batch, high-precision machining experience.

• Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.

• Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.

Experience with complex components, varied CNC turning machinery, tooling selection and CAD/CAM systems would also be advantageous.
