The opportunity

As Commercial Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting high-value business development opportunities, helping transform promising prospects into commercially robust, sustainable contracts.

You'll be the go-to person for pricing, margin modelling, tender submissions and commercial terms, ensuring every opportunity is carefully evaluated, competitively positioned and structured for success.

Working alongside senior business development colleagues and cross-functional teams, you'll bring clarity to complex opportunities, influence key decisions and help drive profitable growth.

What you'll be doing

• Shape pricing strategy: Develop commercially sound pricing structures that balance competitiveness, profitability and customer requirements.
• Own the numbers: Build detailed margin models, freight costings, forecasts and stock commitment plans to support informed commercial decisions.
• Lead tender excellence: Structure and coordinate compelling tender responses, bringing together the right information, insight and commercial thinking.
• Create persuasive proposals: Develop high-quality proposals and executive summaries that clearly communicate value and strengthen the case for winning new business.
• Protect commercial value: Review contract terms, support negotiations and ensure agreements are commercially robust before progressing to signature.
• Drive collaboration: Work closely with business development, supply chain and project colleagues to turn opportunities into successful, deliverable contracts.
• Support innovation: Contribute to customer-led initiatives, helping shape ideas from initial design through to production.
• Enable growth: Partner with the wider team to deliver forecasts, strengthen the pipeline and maximise the value of new business opportunities.

Requirements

What we're looking for

You'll bring a strong commercial mindset, excellent analytical skills and the confidence to influence decisions through both numbers and words.

Ideally, you'll have experience in pricing, commercial analysis or bid management within a B2B environment, alongside:

• Advanced Excel skills and a proven ability to build detailed cost and margin models.
• Experience preparing tenders, developing proposals and reviewing commercial contract terms.
• Strong numerical ability and exceptional attention to detail.
• Clear, persuasive written communication skills and the confidence to stand behind your pricing recommendations.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
• A collaborative approach, sound commercial judgement and the discretion to handle sensitive information.
