Contract Maintenance EngineerFood Manufacturing | Leicester | Up to £40 per hour
We’re looking for an experienced Contract Maintenance Engineer to support a food manufacturing site in Leicester on an ongoing basis, with the assignment expected to run until the end of the year.
What’s on offer?-
£27.50–£30.00 per hour – PAYE direct with Wagstaff Recruitment

£35.00–£40.00 per hour – PAYE via our accredited payroll partner
As a Contract Maintenance Engineer, you’ll provide hands-on engineering support, helping to keep production equipment safe, reliable and running efficiently.
Responsibilities include:

Responding to breakdowns and fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems
-
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and repairs
-
Minimising downtime and supporting production performance
-
Completing engineering documentation and updating CMMS records
-
Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining Health & Safety, GMP and hygiene standards

Sunday: 0600–1800
-
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 0600–1500
We’re looking for a Contract Maintenance Engineer with:
-
Time-served or apprentice-trained experience
-
City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
-
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
-
Food or FMCG manufacturing experience – essential
-
Experience with automated production equipment – preferred
-
ONC/HNC – advantageous
-
A proactive approach and the ability to work independently
