Overview

Education Personnel are recruiting confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, to support secondary schools across Mansfield and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in working in education, including graduates considering teacher training, experienced teaching assistants, school support staff and individuals with experience supporting young people.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise secondary school classes during the short-term absence of their usual teacher, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work set.

You do not need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise secondary school pupils during teacher absence.

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson activities and instructions.

• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.

• Ensure pupils remain focused and engaged with their learning.

• Support students across KS3 and KS4 in a range of curriculum subjects.

• Follow school behaviour, safeguarding and classroom procedures.

• Provide feedback to teaching staff where required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has experience working with children or young people, ideally aged 11–16.

• Is confident managing groups and communicating with secondary school pupils.

• Has strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

• Can follow lesson plans and instructions from teaching staff.

• Is reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic about education.

• Is willing to undertake appropriate safeguarding and pre-employment checks.
