Job Description:

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Deputy Finance Manager to join North West Leicestershire Council on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

📍 Location: Coalville, Leicestershire
🏢 Working: Office-based for senior management meetings, hybrid working.
📅 Contract: Temporary

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Director of Resources and Council Finance Teams at senior management level.

• Acting as Deputy S151 Officer and providing senior financial advice to the Council.

• Leading and overseeing annual budget setting and Council Tax setting.

• Overseeing the Statement of Accounts and statutory financial reporting.

• Leading on financial and capital accounting.

• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Council policies, procedures and financial timetables.

• Maintaining high standards of financial integrity, governance and transparency.

• Attending senior management and Council meetings, including some evening meetings.

Requirements:

• Be a CCAB qualified accountant.

• Be a current member of a recognised professional accountancy body.

• Have strong experience across local authority finance and statutory financial functions.

• Have the ability to operate at a senior management level and provide high-level financial advice.

• Be confident overseeing complex financial processes, reporting and statutory requirements.

• Be available to work from the Council offices in Coalville and attend occasional evening Council meetings.
