Deputy Warehouse Team Leader – £32,000 – 4 on 4 off Days

Location: Magna Park, Lutterworth, Leicestershire
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Hours: 06:00 – 18:00
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – Days
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Deputy Warehouse Team Leader – The Opportunity

An established logistics and distribution business is looking to recruit an experienced Deputy Warehouse Team Leader to join its busy warehouse operation at Magna Park, Lutterworth.

This is a hands-on Deputy Warehouse Team Leader position, supervising a team of up to 10 warehouse operatives while supporting daily operations and ensuring customer requirements and operational targets are achieved.

The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work across Goods In, Goods Out, Rework and Container Operations, moving between departments depending on business requirements.

This is not a role for someone who simply delegates tasks. The business needs a Deputy Warehouse Team Leader who leads by example, gets involved on the warehouse floor and works alongside the team to get the job done.

Deputy Warehouse Team Leader – Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of up to 10 warehouse operatives, allocating workloads, monitoring performance and ensuring daily targets are achieved.

  • Work flexibly across Goods In, Goods Out, Rework and Container Operations, supporting whichever department requires assistance.

  • Take a hands-on approach to warehouse activities, including picking, packing, loading, unloading and dispatch when required.

  • Make operational decisions, resolve day-to-day issues and ensure customer deadlines are met.

  • Maintain accurate stock records, use warehouse management systems and ensure health and safety procedures are followed.

  • Support staff training, maintain team productivity and communicate effectively with warehouse management.

Deputy Warehouse Team Leader – Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Team Leader, Deputy Warehouse Team Leader or Warehouse Supervisor.

  • Experience managing warehouse operatives, allocating workloads and maintaining productivity.

  • Good understanding of warehouse operations, including Goods In, Goods Out and distribution.

  • Confident using warehouse management systems with good organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to make decisions independently, solve problems and work effectively under pressure.

  • A flexible, reliable and hands-on approach, with a willingness to undertake physical warehouse duties alongside the team.

Deputy Warehouse Team Leader – The Ideal Candidate

The ideal Deputy Warehouse Team Leader will be confident managing people but equally comfortable getting involved in daily warehouse operations.

You must be prepared to move between departments as business needs change, whether that means supporting Goods In, Goods Out or unloading containers.

This is a working leadership role. The successful candidate will lead from the front, take ownership of operational challenges and be willing to roll up their sleeves when required.

A hands-on attitude is essential. This is not a purely supervisory position.

What's on Offer?

  • £32,000 per annum.

  • Permanent position with 4 on, 4 off day shifts, 06:00 – 18:00.

  • Varied responsibilities across a busy logistics and distribution operation.

  • Opportunity to develop warehouse leadership and supervisory experience.
