Design Manager - Solar PV

£55,000 - £65,000 + 10% Bonus + Technical Development + Autonomy + Long-Term Stability + Progression

Remote (UK) with monthly Newhaven office visit

Are you an experienced Solar PV Design Engineer or Design Manager looking for a role where you can take real ownership of commercial and industrial PV designs, while being backed by a business investing in training and upskilling?

On offer is an excellent opportunity to join a growing renewables division, working on end-to-end technical delivery from enquiry and tender stage through to fully compliant design packs, with the freedom to influence standards and how the function develops as workload grows.

This is a well-established organisation with a strong reputation in their market, now expanding their Solar PV offering and bringing key technical expertise in-house to support continued growth.

In this role you will lead technical review of ITTs, EPC contracts and client specifications, produce BoQs and tender documentation, complete site assessments and feasibility studies, and deliver SLDs, string designs, cable sizing and AC network calculations.

This role would suit a Solar PV design professional looking for technical ownership, ongoing development, and long-term prospects in a flexible, predominantly desk-based position.

The Role:

• Lead technical review of enquiries, contracts, ITTs and client specifications
• Produce commercially viable Solar PV designs for C&I projects
• Deliver tender packs: BoQs, proposals, specifications and supporting documentation
• Technical outputs: layouts, SLDs, string design, cable sizing, AC calculations
• Remote role with monthly Newhaven office visit (site visits as required)

The Person:

• Proven experience designing commercial Solar PV systems
• Strong technical capability across PV design calculations and documentation
• Happy with occasional travel for meetings / site assessments
