The Role

As a Design Technology Teacher, you will:

• Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Teach one or more specialist areas including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, CAD/CAM, Graphics, or Construction.
• Plan engaging lessons that challenge and inspire learners of all abilities.
• Develop students' practical workshop skills while promoting safe working practices.
• Prepare students for GCSE Design Technology and support examination success.
• Monitor, assess, and track student progress effectively.
• Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities.
• Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating workshop environment.
• Promote creativity, innovation, and independent learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction, or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Strong understanding of the current Design Technology curriculum.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
