Our client, a well-established family-run independent garage in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join their reputable team. Duties:

• Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics using manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostic equipment
• Accurately identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults as the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician
• Interpret fault codes, live data, wiring diagrams, and technical information
• Conduct systematic fault-finding to determine root causes of complex issues
• Complete diagnostic reports detailing findings and recommended repairs
• Provide technical guidance and support to other technicians as the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs as necessary
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure timely completion of vehicle repairs

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician or Highly Skilled Vehicle Technician is essential
• Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and fault-finding systems
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification is desirable
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostic knowledge
• Excellent attention to detail and a pride in workmanship
• Ability to diagnose complex faults accurately and efficiently
• Good communication skills and teamwork ability
• Must be reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
• Seeking a stable, long-term role within a supportive independent garage
