Domestic Abuse & Community Support Worker £24,500 - £25,500 pro rata + on-call allowance Permanent Pembrokeshire BRC is currently recruiting with a leading domestic abuse support organisation in Pembrokeshire.
The opportunity is focused on raising awareness and wellbeing, domestic abuse support and community support.
You will support individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, providing practical support, advocacy, safety planning and access to appropriate services.
The role will involve: - Supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse
- Providing practical support, information, advice and advocacy
- Assessing needs, identifying risks and developing support and safety plans
- Signposting and referring to housing, health, safeguarding, police and specialist services
- Supporting families affected by domestic abuse and its impact on children
- Promoting wellbeing, independence and positive outcomes
- Developing and delivering wellbeing sessions and activities where appropriate
- Raising awareness of domestic abuse and available support across Pembrokeshire
- Building relationships with community organisations and partner agencies
- Maintaining accurate and confidential case records and support plans
We’re looking for someone with: - Experience supporting vulnerable adults, families or individuals affected by domestic abuse or complex needs
- Experience within domestic abuse, safeguarding, housing, homelessness, social care, support work, advocacy or wellbeing
- A good understanding of safeguarding and risk management
- Experience providing advice, advocacy, practical support or signposting
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to build trusting relationships with people in difficult circumstances
- A calm, empathetic and non-judgemental approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as travel throughout Pembrokeshire will be required
Experience or training in domestic abuse, safeguarding, supported housing or advocacy would be advantageous.
Welsh language skills would also be desirable.
