English & Maths Tutor - Chester

Location: Chester
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: October 2026
Duration: Ongoing

Prospero Teaching are seeking a versatile English & Maths Tutor to support learners through flexible 1:1 tuition in Chester.

The successful candidate will be confident supporting learners across core subjects and able to adapt sessions depending on individual ability, confidence and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 tuition in English and Maths
Support learners to close gaps in their core knowledge
Plan structured and engaging sessions
Adapt resources and teaching strategies
Build learner confidence and motivation
Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback

Requirements
Strong knowledge of English and Maths
Experience teaching or tutoring children or young people
Ability to deliver engaging 1:1 sessions
Flexible and learner-centred approach
Experience supporting learners with additional needs is desirable
Relevant teaching qualification or tutoring experience desirable
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Right to Work in the UK
Two professional child-related references
