Experienced Powder Coater

Job description

Karson Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an Experienced Powder Coater with experience coating perforated metal ceiling tiles to join a busy manufacturing and engineering company on a temp-to-perm basis.

Please note: Previous powder coating experience is essential for this position. We are particularly looking for candidates who have experience powder coating perforated metal ceiling tiles/panels or similar perforated sheet-metal products.

Applicants must have hands-on experience in electrostatic powder coating using powder coating spray guns. Experience in conventional wet paint spraying, automotive paint spraying or shot blasting alone is not sufficient.

Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:15pm
• Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Pay

From £13.50 per hour, depending on experience.

The Role

Working as part of a busy manufacturing and engineering team, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality powder-coated finishes, with a particular focus on perforated metal ceiling tiles and panels.

Key Responsibilities

• Powder coating perforated metal ceiling tiles/panels and other metal components.
• Applying powder using electrostatic powder coating spray guns.
• Achieving an even, consistent finish across perforated surfaces, edges and components.
• Operating within a busy powder coating line.
• Preparing metal components through surface preparation, cleaning and masking.
• Hanging and removing components from the powder coating line.
• Applying powder paint to a high-quality standard.
• Monitoring curing oven temperatures and curing finished products.
• Inspecting finished work and carrying out quality checks.
• Identifying and rectifying coating defects.
• Maintaining powder coating equipment and keeping the work area clean and safe.
• Working closely with the production and manufacturing teams to meet daily targets.

Essential Requirements

✔ Previous hands-on experience in powder coating perforated metal ceiling tiles/panels or similar perforated metal products.
✔ Experience using electrostatic powder coating equipment and spray guns.
✔ Good understanding of achieving a consistent finish on perforated metal surfaces.
✔ Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, metal fabrication or industrial finishing environments.
✔ High attention to detail with pride in producing a quality finish.
✔ Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team.
