Job description

Export Administrator (Part-Time Temporary)

South Petherton | 15-20 Hours Per Week | Fully Office-Based
£14.30 - £15.30 per hour, depending on experience

Our client is looking for an experienced Export Administrator to join their team on a part-time temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong export background who is looking for flexible working hours and can confidently manage export processes with minimal supervision.

Working closely with customers, freight forwarders and internal departments, you will play a key role in ensuring international orders are processed accurately and delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing international sales orders accurately using the company's ERP system (IFS).
  • Coordinating overseas shipments through freight forwarders and logistics providers.
  • Selecting the most appropriate mode of transport for time-sensitive and temperature-controlled products.
  • Preparing and completing export and commercial documentation, including:
    • Commercial Invoices
    • Packing Lists
    • Bills of Lading
    • Letters of Credit
    • Certificates of Origin
    • Export Health Certificates
  • Applying for and managing country-specific export certificates where required.
  • Keeping customers informed throughout the order and shipping process.
  • Liaising with internal departments, including Planning, Quality and Warehouse teams.
  • Building strong relationships with external partners, including freight forwarders, banks and government agencies.
  • Providing support to the wider Customer Services team when required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need proven export administration experience and a solid understanding of international shipping procedures. Our client is particularly interested in candidates who have hands-on experience managing exports and can quickly integrate into the role.

Ideally, you will have experience in:

  • International sales order processing.
  • Export shipping and commercial documentation.
  • Freight forwarding and international logistics coordination.
  • Country-specific certification requirements.
  • Customs procedures and export compliance.
  • Commodity (HS) code classification.
  • Rules of Origin and preferential trade agreements.
  • ERP systems, with IFS experience being advantageous but not essential.

Due to the specialist nature of this position, previous export experience is essential. The role requires someone who can confidently navigate export processes and make an immediate contribution to the team.

If you have a strong export administration background and are looking for a flexible part-time opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.
