Facilities Operative - Warrington

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Facilities Operative to support the maintenance, presentation and safety of multiple sites across the region.

This is a hands-on role suited to an individual with experience in facilities management, maintenance, caretaking, cleaning or property services. You will play an important part in ensuring sites remain clean, safe, compliant and well-presented at all times.

The role involves regular travel between sites, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and appearance across both internal and external site areas. This includes carrying out routine cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, pressure washing, litter picking and waste management, whilst ensuring all customer areas, access roads, compounds, car parks and walkways remain safe, tidy and operational.

The role will also involve undertaking grounds maintenance duties including mowing, strimming, hedge trimming, planting, weeding and seasonal landscaping tasks. You will be expected to identify maintenance issues and report them promptly to ensure sites remain in excellent condition.

Health and safety compliance is a key aspect of the position. You will support routine fire safety inspections, testing procedures and emergency preparedness activities, whilst carrying out various compliance checks relating to water hygiene, emergency lighting and fire safety systems. You will be responsible for following safe working practices, completing risk assessments where required and ensuring appropriate use of PPE at all times.

You will carry out daily inspections of company vehicles, tools and maintenance equipment, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose. Any defects or issues must be reported and addressed in line with company procedures.

Accurate record keeping is essential. You will update maintenance activities through the company's CAFM system, complete site inspections and audits, maintain electronic timesheets and communicate effectively with management regarding site priorities and operational requirements.

Participation in an occasional out-of-hours emergency call-out rota may be required, together with the flexibility to undertake any other reasonable duties associated with the role. Based on

About You

The successful candidate will have at least two years' experience within a facilities, maintenance, caretaking, cleaning or similar environment. You will possess strong organisational and communication skills, be capable of working independently and managing your own workload across multiple locations, and demonstrate a practical approach to problem solving.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Experience of CAFM systems, basic building maintenance knowledge and relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH or CSCS would be advantageous, although not essential. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, COSHH and general compliance requirements would also be beneficial. Based on

Benefits

In return, we offer a competitive salary of £29,500 - £30,250 per annum, 28 days annual leave including bank holidays, overtime opportunities, a company pension scheme, ongoing training and development, access to an employee benefits and discount platform, and a full uniform and PPE allowance.
