Finance Assistant

Location: Cardiff (Fully Site-Based)
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: £27,000 per annum

Are you looking to progress your career within finance? We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a well-established business based in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounts or finance experience to become part of a supportive team where you will gain exposure to a broad range of finance duties, including purchase ledger, reconciliations, invoicing, and month-end processes. Key Responsibilities

  • Processing high volumes of purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Matching, checking and coding invoices
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
  • Assisting with weekly and monthly payment runs
  • Supporting sales ledger activities, including invoicing and account maintenance
  • Performing bank and supplier account reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and updating finance systems
  • Assisting with month-end processes and financial reporting
  • Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to resolve account queries
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad-hoc finance administration duties


About You

  • Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk, Accounts Payable, or similar finance role
  • Good understanding of purchase ledger, reconciliations and invoice processing
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using finance or ERP systems would be advantageous
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
  • AAT qualification or studies would be advantageous but not essential
