Elevation are exclusively partnered with a well established SME business based in Leeds in the recruitment of a Finance Manager.

This is a chance to take real ownership of a UK finance function inside a growing international business. You'd sit at the centre of how the UK operation is run, leading a team of four and acting as the link between day-to-day finance and the decisions that shape the business.

The UK finance function is ready for its next step forward. This isn't a role where you'll simply keep the wheels turning. You'll have the scope to strengthen controls, improve systems, introduce automation and build a team that is accountable, engaged and developing. You'll work closely with the Head of Finance and have real visibility across the business, with your insight feeding directly into commercial and operational decisions.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll own financial reporting and compliance across multiple trading entities and consolidate into the Group reporting pack. Key areas include:

• Owning month-end close, balance sheet integrity and financial controls
• Leading the annual statutory audit across the UK entities
• Reporting under IFRS and Group requirements
• Cash flow management and forecasting, working with the team to maximise working capital
• Leading, coaching and developing a team covering accounts, purchase ledger, credit control and sales administration
• Overseeing the monthly payroll cycle, from timelines through to approvals and delivery
• UK tax compliance, including VAT returns, corporation tax and HMRC liaison
• Delivering KPIs, management reporting and business partnering support, including inventory reporting and controls
• Supporting budgets and forecasts with analysis, challenge and insight
• Leading finance systems, automation and continuous improvement projects

What you'll bring

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Previous management experience (desirable)
• Strong IFRS and statutory reporting knowledge, with experience managing audits and external relationships
• Multi-entity reporting experience
• A sound grasp of balance sheet management and financial governance

Just as important is how you work. You'll be commercially aware and able to turn numbers into practical insight, organised and proactive, and confident holding others to account. You'll communicate well across the business, manage competing priorities calmly and bring a genuine appetite for doing things better.
