Finance Operations & Controls Manager
Contract Length: 3 months (possible extension)
Pay Rate: £550 per day via umbrella - Inside IR35
Location: Hybrid Working | UK Wide with occasional travel to Leicester

We're supporting a large, highly regulated UK organisation as they seek an experienced Finance Operations & Controls Manager to lead a critical finance function responsible for cash operations, financial controls, reconciliations, team leadership and process improvement.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who combines strong operational finance expertise with a passion for transformation. You'll inherit a well-established function, take ownership of day-to-day delivery, and play a key role in driving standardisation, automation and control improvements across the business.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll take responsibility for the successful delivery of Cash & Banking operations, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reconciliations and effective governance across the function.

This role offers a genuine blend of operational leadership and transformation, with approximately equal focus on maintaining a strong BAU environment while driving process improvements and standardisation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Cash & Banking operations, ensuring accurate reconciliations and month-end delivery
• Manage and develop both onshore and offshore teams
• Maintain a strong financial control framework, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated
• Drive process improvement, standardisation and automation initiatives
• Support ongoing transformation programmes and implementation of improved banking processes
• Partner with key stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Shared Services and wider business functions
• Ensure compliance within a highly regulated environment
• Act as the primary point of escalation for critical operational issues and control matters
• Drive continuous improvement while maintaining exceptional service delivery standards

About You

We're keen to speak with experienced finance professionals who can demonstrate a blend of operational leadership, financial control expertise and change delivery experience.

Essential Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong Financial Control background
• Experience managing teams within complex finance environments
• Proven track record delivering process improvements, standardisation or transformation initiatives
• Strong month-end and reconciliation experience
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence across functions
• Experience operating within controlled, regulated environments
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving capabilities

• Cash & Banking operations experience
• Shared Services or R2R environments
• Offshore team management
• Banking operations or customer payment processes
• BlackLine experience
• Debt, Collections, Receivables or wider Finance Operations backgrounds
