Financial Accountant

Job description

SF Partners are recruiting a Financial Accountant for an international business, offering a broad role across financial reporting, commercial analysis and business partnering.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and Commercial Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of key month-end activities while helping operational teams understand performance and make informed decisions. This is a hands-on opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining technical accounting with wider business involvement.

The role

Prepare monthly accounts and Group reporting submissions, ensuring accurate reporting within agreed deadlines.

Maintain the integrity of the balance sheet through monthly reconciliations and timely resolution of queries.

Partner with operational teams to explain performance against budget, investigate variances and highlight risks.

Support annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts across the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.

Ensure reporting complies with relevant accounting standards and UK statutory requirements.

Oversee the work of an outsourced partner managing accounts payable and receivable.

Support cash management, payment reviews and payment processing.

Improve finance systems, strengthen controls and maintain clear process documentation.

Contribute to finance projects and provide analysis to support business decisions.

About you

You'll be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with at least one year's post-qualification experience and a strong grounding in financial accounting.

Experience working within a subsidiary of an international group would be particularly relevant, alongside an understanding of reporting deadlines, financial controls and robust accounting processes. Automotive experience would be useful.

You'll be comfortable working through the detail, communicating with colleagues outside finance and taking the initiative to improve how things are done.
