Actio Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company based in Bristol who are looking for an experienced Gear Cutter to their growing manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering business in Bristol. The successful candidate will have experience setting and operating gear cutting machinery and be capable of producing precision components to tight tolerances.

The Role

• Setting and operating gear cutting machines
• Manufacturing gears and precision-engineered components to specification
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out quality inspections using measuring equipment
• Performing tool changes and basic machine maintenance
• Ensuring all work is completed to required quality standards and production schedules
• Working closely with the production and quality teams

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Gear Cutter, Gear Machinist, or similar role
• Experience with hobbing, shaping, or gear cutting machinery
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of precision engineering practices and tolerances
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Apprenticeship or engineering qualifications advantageous but not essential
