Clarence Recruitment is currently recruiting for a General Cover Supervisor to work on a part-time basis within successful and supportive secondary schools across Leicester.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are looking for flexible, term-time employment. Whether you have previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Sports Coach, Tutor, Instructor, or Graduate looking to gain classroom experience, we would love to hear from you.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their work.

The Role

As a General Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise secondary school classes across a range of subjects.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and in line with school policies.
• Support students in completing set work and achieving lesson objectives.
• Promote a positive and productive learning environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Provide feedback to teaching teams regarding pupil engagement and progress.
• Adapt confidently to different classrooms and year groups.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring or training environment.
• Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• The confidence to lead classes independently.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• A proactive, flexible and professional attitude.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
