About the Role:
This General Operative position is focused on supporting the smooth running of the stores and warehouse by handling a variety of manual and cleaning tasks. You will be responsible for maintaining clean equipment, moving and organising stock, and assisting with general labouring duties as required. Your work will help ensure engineers and the wider team have the equipment and materials they need, when they need them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Empty water tanks safely and efficiently in line with site procedures
• Clean and pressure wash tanks, buckets, and related equipment used by engineers
• Load and unload equipment, products, and materials into and out of vans
• Pick and pack products accurately from the stores as required
• Stack, move, and organise goods within the warehouse and general stores area
• Carry out general labouring duties to support daily operations across the site
• Maintain a clean and tidy working environment in the stores and surrounding areas
• Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with the wider team

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a manual, hands-on role within a stores, warehouse, or similar environment
• Strong manual handling and lifting ability, with the physical fitness to perform repetitive tasks
• Experience with picking, packing, loading, and unloading goods
• Ability to use a pressure washer or similar cleaning equipment
• Comfortable working in a wet and sometimes dirty environment due to tank and equipment cleaning
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
• Own transport to reliably commute to Merry Lees, Desford, Leicestershire (LE9)

Desirable Skills:

• Previous experience in general stores or stock control roles
• Experience working alongside engineering or field service teams
• Familiarity with basic warehouse systems or stock recording processes
• Experience using other cleaning equipment or industrial cleaning processes

Qualifications:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Manual handling training or certification (preferred but not essential)
• Any basic health and safety or warehouse operations training (advantageous)
